Hey lovely readers,
A warm welcome back to my blog.
The first quarter of the year is coming to an end, just in time for the long Easter weekend. For most of us, the long weekend is perfectly timed as an opportunity to sit back, enjoy and gear up for the next quarter of the year.
Since I have spent the majority of the weekends working at the office, this long weekend is the perfect excuse to treat myself to some chill time and just relax.
In preparation for the weekend, I researched on activities to do for the long weekend and came up with the following options, in order of priority:
A WEEKEND GATEWAY
The Easter weekend is the perfect opportunity to pack a small bag and travel to a new place. My original plan was to travel back home (Shinyanga) and enjoy the Easter weekend with my mom but I am thinking of changing my mind, seeing that many travel companies are now organizing gateway trips that are worth the Easter weekend. So I am currently debating on whether to travel to Magoroto for a much needed detox weekend or join the guys at Vinjari for whatever gateway trip they have planned. Either way, I am looking forward to leaving this town for a full weekend.
2. A ROAD TRIP
This would have been my second option for the Easter weekend, should the weekend gateway be impossible. I wouldn’t mind a trip to the outskirts of the city for the sake of getting a fresher perspective on life and a breath of much fresher air. My top choice would have been a trip to Bagamoyo, as it has a pretty scenic road and has few joints along the way, where one can stop and indulge in some good food and drinks. My second option would have been a trip to the ends of Kigamboni with a quick dip at one of the beaches along the way.
If the first two options fail, then a Staycation wont be too bad, especially since there are hotels around the city offering discounts during the Easter break. A staycation serves as a refresh button if you cant be bothered to travel away from the city but need the quite night in, reflect and re-strategize on how to face the rest of the year. While this may be too superficial for the average and single person, but can be quite fun for a couple in need of a quite moment to recharge.
4. A SPA WEEKEND
If you are feeling burnt out like I do, then a Spa treatment is exactly what you need to rejuvenate and recharge your batteries. This is also a cost effective of relaxing as you can limit the range of activities to match your budget. If this was the option, I would have started with waxing, followed by a Pedicure and finally a massage. The Rub Spa or The Touch Spa are the best places for a Spa treatment.
PS: To all the gentlemen reading this, this can be a very thoughtful present to your partner. Do this and thank me later -;)
These are my top choices for Easter weekend activities. Should you have any additional suggestions, please feel free to share them in the comments section below.
Once again, thank you so much for stopping by.
