August 30, 2017

Hey lovely readers,

Welcome back to my blog.

I can’t believe we are starting the last quarter of the year. Time has flown by so fast yet it feels like the year has just started.

2017 has been indeed challenging for me, to a point that I lost focus and was barely motivated to do anything that is inspiring and soul enriching. But ts never too late for one to dust off the self pity party and jump on a much more exciting and inspiring life path. Here are a few things that I am looking forward to in the last quarter of 2017:

My family has been blessed with so many healthy new born babies, who I am yet to meet and spend some quality time with. I am looking forward to spending time with my brothers and sisters with their new born and just build on that family bond. There is something so special about new born babies that makes one look forward to fresh starts and just a healthy overdose of cuteness.

Of all my cherished hobbies, travel is the one of the hobbies that I indulge in with so much passion and enthusiasm. I am looking forward to visiting a new place in the last quarter of the year, be it within the country (I have my eyes set on Ngorongoro crater) or outside the country, travel for me is a way of escaping the daily norm with the potential of coming back refreshed, inspired and optimistic about life in general.

December is undoubtedly my most favourite month of the year and Christmas is without a shadow of doubt my most favourite holiday in the calendar. There is something special about the family get togethers, the endless parties (will be crashing on so many of these this year) and the feeling of joy that comes with Christmas season. I am so looking forward this magical time of the year.

If you read the post where I documented a few lessons that 2017 has taught me so far (read here), then you will know that of the few lessons learnt, true friendship and true love were among the key lessons life taught me oh so very well. I have fallen deeper in love with those near and dear to me, the love I intend to display even more in the last quarter of the year. On that note, I will displaying that love for my lovely readers via a giveaway which will come soon – stay tuned.

I have realised that my knowledge for this beautiful city (or fishing village-depending on your definition) is pretty limited. I think its high time that I take the initiative to know all the places and devour on the good things it has to offer. So, I am looking forward to exploring the shopping experience, dining experience, all the events that Dar es Salaam has to offer (I hope there is Nyama Choma Festival on the horizon) and all the activities that can be done in this city. I will be documenting my experience here on this web space so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions of what I should start exploring, please do leave it in the comments section below.

I spent one Saturday with a long-lost friend and it made me feel so darn good. At this age, conversations with childhood friends bring so much joy, a sense of peace, a sense of being centred and inspiration. I am looking forward to spending time with my close friends especially those friends I made long before I learnt to apply mascara.

I recently read a professional article and realised how much I have missed reading books, articles and/or newspaper. Reading is the indeed proven to be the best way to change ones perspective and understanding within a short span of time. I have ordered a few books which will form part of the last quarter’s read. In no particular order, the books I am looking forward to reading are “Born a crime”, “Girl Boss” and “Elegance”.

I read somewhere that, if you fail, it is best that you fail fast. As I start on the last quarter of the year, I will be closing on some of projects that are failing and truly not worth my efforts anymore. In addition to closing down some projects, I will also be parting with some of habits (the likes of eating too much carbs, procrastination) and people who are breaking me apart rather than building me up.

Of all the things that I do, blogging is one of the things I do with less passion and zeal. I am on a mission to turn that around by blogging more and creating contents that will have at most impact to all my lovely readers. On that note, if there is anything that you would like me to blog about, please do share in the comments section below.

I am always cautious in knowing that on my good days, I need God as much as I needed him on my bad days. Seeking God’s favor and mercy has been indeed the building blocks with which I stand on. This last quarter will be no different, in that I will seek his guidance and divine mercy in everything I set out to do.

That marks the ten (10) things I am looking forward to in the last quarter of 2017. I would love to hear your plans for the last quarter of the year in the comments section below. And if you have any ideas of what I should blog about, please do share in the comments section below.
